    • Both generations are more confident when it comes to asking questions, making comparisons and challenging the norms. They are happy to express their opinion and value honesty from colleagues and employers. It’s important to show Millennials and Generation Z that their insight and innovative ideas are contributing the development of the organisation.
  • Work needs to be enjoyable
    • You’ll often find that the future workforce is motivated by whether the work is stimulating and meaningful much more than by money or status. Employers must consider how they portray the overall company experience and culture. Consider incorporating creative incentives as a way of attracting candidates, for example early finish Fridays or pizza Thursdays.
  • Flexibility and balance
    • Millennials and Generation Z want to have the opportunity to control their own hours and working location. They often expect a healthy work-life balance and this will be considered as one of their imperative priorities when searching for a job. Therefore, companies will need to formally prioritise work-life balance.

Both Millennials and Generation Z grew up in a time of rapid change, giving them a distinctive set of priorities and expectations. By identifying these expectations employers can alter their company ethos, values and culture to fit the needs of potential new employees and future business leaders.
