My client is looking for an experience HR Advisor to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- To provide an effective and responsive HR service, covering a broad range of issues to meet customer needs.
- To provide first stage advice and support to Managers, in developing and maintaining good employee relations and performance.
- To develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and practices based on legislative changes, best practice and innovative insights.
- To manage and support in the delivery of key corporate and HR projects as identified on the HR Service plan and in support of the People Strategy and to facilitate organisational development activities as required.
- To lead on the operational day to day management of the recruitment function for designated service areas, advising managers on best practice recruitment processes, including advert preparation, recruitment tools, testing and compliance checks.
- To support managers with matters relating to performance management, in particular with issues of discipline, grievance and capability to embed a performance management culture, seeking support from HR Business Partners as required.
- To take a front-line approach to embedding a proactive absence management culture, working closely with designated service areas to build strong relationships with managers and staff. This will involve statistical analysis, formal absence reviews, and subsequent actions in line with the Council’s managing sickness absence processes including the promotion of employee well-being.
- To manage Occupational Health cases to a satisfactory conclusion. This will include referral of cases for Occupational Health advice, second medical opinion and counselling as appropriate.
- To contribute to the effective running of the HR team through team meetings, regular liaison with the Payroll and Pensions Teams, Union representatives, and relevant Audits
- To manage the job evaluation process for designated service areas to ensure fairness and consistency.
- To use the HR/Payroll system to provide accurate information and reports and to obtain data for workforce planning and development.
- To be responsible for managing the employment checking process, including DBS, references and any other appropriate checks.
- To support the service areas and Business Partners with staff development, providing ad-hoc training and workshops, drawing on support from the Learning and Development Partner, particularly in the implementation of revised policies and procedures.
