Are you looking for your next challenge, well look no further. Our longstanding client the Shropshire Council is currently recruiting for a Passenger Assistant to assist them in transporting students to and from school.
You will be required to work between Monday and Friday either working mornings, afternoons or both depending on what route you will be on. The morning shift is usually 7 am-10 am and the afternoon 2.30 pm – 5 pm. This is term time only so this is a great opportunity for someone looking for term time-only hours.
Duties of a passenger assistant:
- Ensuring all students have a safe journey to and from school
- Correctly handling wheelchairs to ensure they are secure
- Communicating with the driver
- Communicating with parents at drop-off and pickup
- The position does not include driving
The successful passenger assistant will require the following:
- Always acting compassionately with all students
- Working calmly
- Working well in a team
- Remain professional in all situations
- Must drive due to location of depot
No experience is necessary for this position just the willingness to ensure all student needs are met during their journey to and from school.
You will be given full wheelchair training, driver assessment and route training. Should you be a suitable candidate a fully enhanced DBS will be undertaken.
