Absolute Personnel Recruitment is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client’s team on a permanent basis. To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of the freight distribution industry such as pallet or parcel network or demonstrate aptitude for planning and managing drivers

Responsibilities:

• Using transport management software to plan all deliveries to vehicles to ensure required KPIs are met.
• Provide management and guidance to the warehouse shift to ensure it completes deadlines.
• Ensure AM network processes are followed correctly including scanning and checking inbound freight for any discrepancies.
• Load vehicles and ensure they are ready to depart in a timely fashion according to operational schedules.
• Brief drivers upon their departure on their planned day, ensuring they have all required documentation and EPOD/EDC to ensure compliance with network KPIs.
• Handover to day planners at end of shift.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery
• Conduct regular assessments of transport routes and methods to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Required:

• Proven experience in a transport planning or logistics/freight role is essential.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, fostering teamwork within an operational environment
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.
